The Fifth Seal

Page 168
The opening of the fifth seal revealed the following scene:
John wrote, "When he (the Lamb) had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held…" Revelation 6:9

Notice at the opening of this fifth seal there was not an invitation to "Come and see," as there had been at the opening of previous four seals.

That was due to the fact that the three remaining seals don’t have the Gospels as their hosts.

When Jesus arrived in Paradise the martyrs (those who were slain for the cause of Christ) confronted Him with, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"
They were told to rest a little season until their fellow servants joined them. Revelation 6:10-11
Blood that is shed through martyrdom cries to God for vengeance. Remember that after Cain killed his brother Able, the Lord asked Cain; “What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.”   Genesis 4:10

(In all probability Abel was one of those who cried How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"

Jesus laid the blood of those martyrs at the door of Jerusalem.  He charged her with: "Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar."   Matthew 23:35

Avenged Jerusalem of their blood, He did. The kingdom was taken from Israel at large and given to the small saved remnant.

Then He renamed Jerusalem, “Babylon the Great,” for said he: "In her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."  Revelation 18:24

Page 169
In the above both Jesus and John named Jerusalem as the slayers of the prophets and the saints and of all that were slain upon the earth. Matthew 23:35

"And white robes were given unto every one of them."  Revelation 6:11

(By before they received white robes, Jesus had to ascended into Heaven and offered up his blood to God in the Holiest of all.)

I believe that the recipients of the white robes were the saints of the Old Testament that were kept in Paradise until Jesus’ entrance into the holiest of all with His sacrificial blood. I also beleave they were the saints that arose after the resurrection of Jesus that Matthew mentioned in Matthew 27:52 and 53

Ironically enough, when Jesus descended (into the heart of the earth) it was the season for the Old Testament sacrifices to be offered up.

Ah, but no more offerings woul be received by God after.  Jesus fulfilled and replaced the Old Testament with His own Blood.  Matthew 26:28

And He called it: "The New Testament."

The Passover lamb was killed, the fourteenth day of Abib.

One of the occupants of Paradise quizzed the master concerning His wounds.
Zechariah prophesied:  "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands?  Then he shall answer, those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends."  Zechariah 13:6

(WOW!)

May the God of the universe be praised forevermore.

AMEN !

The Sixth Seal
                                                                            November 15, 2001
Page 170
John wrote:  “And I beheld until he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.” Revelation 6:12

"And, lo, there was a great earthquake."
According to The Gospel of Matthew, a geological earthquake occurred at Jerusalem the day our LORD was crucified.  Matthew 27:51

Then there was another earthquake, it occurred in Israel.  It was greater in magnitude than that of the geographical quake.
It was spiritual and it was permanent in nature, and it had retribution written all over it.

In retrospect, when the LORD brought Israel "up out of Egypt," He made a covenant with them concerning the good land wherein He was leading them.
Moses mediated the Law Covenant between Israel and their GOD.  It was conditional and it went like this:

“Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: That the land whether I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. And ye shall not walk in the manner of the nations, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these, therefore I abhorred them.”  Leviticus 20:22-23

Israel did not abide by their covenant and the quaking was the good land catapulting,  or spewing  them out, as it did their predecessors.  Such shaking was the good land purging herself of Israel at large.  (Of course that was a spiritual ousting.)

The prophecy of such action was prophesied by Ezekiel, where The LORD told him: "Say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked."  Ezekiel 21:3

Isaiah prophesied of such an occurrence.
He wrote: “Behold the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.”(and He did destroy their sinners out of that land.)   Isaiah 24:19

Page 171
Israel lost both their natural and spiritual rights to the good land.  Yet they remained in it bodily for a season.

The little flock was brought back in the good land But Israel’s sinners were left on the outside.

That was absolutely spiritual in nature and for that reason many of the clergy of our day haven’t the slightest idea that the Church and not Israel (at large) are the chosen people of God.

Such action was to the fulfillment of where Isaiah prophesied:
“Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.”
Isaiah 60:21

Yea, though the remnant was small, they were all righteous. Later the saved Gentiles were brought in to replace Israel’s unbelievers

Jesus used the small remnant as building stones in His Church.  He brought the little flock back into the kingdom on the Day of Pentecost while on the other hand, Israel's sinners were left on the outside with stipulation that: "They also if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for GOD is able to graft them in again." Romans 11:23

"And the sun became black as sackcloth of hair."

That is a reference to Israel's blindness.

Paul told the Roman Gentiles: “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.” Romans 11:25

As Christians, we view The Lord God through the dark glass.  But the views of those who harden their heart against Jesus were blinded.  John compared it to one looking through sackcloth of hair, which is to say, burlap or mohair.  The Apostle said that their blindness was God’s judgment against them for the way

Page 172
They had treated the Church.  He wrote: “Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.”  1 Thessalonians 2:16

Isaiah had a lot to say about the failing eyesight of Jacob.  He wrote, “Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us. We wait for light, but
behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.”  Isaiah 59:9-10

It was high noon when The LORD Jesus was in Jerusalem but few be that recognized the fact that He was indeed their messiah.

The Jews fought “tooth and nail” against the Lord and His church.  In retribution, God blinded them to the fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecy.

He said, “This shall be the plague wherewith The LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; their flesh shall consume away while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall consume away in their holes while they stand on their feet, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth."
Zechariah 14:11b-12

Yea, Jerusalem's Jews persecuted The LORD, then they killed Him.

After the resurrection they persecuted the church with all that was within them, "While they stood on their feet."

They pursued and waged war against Peter, James, John, Paul and others.  And by the time Paul wrote the book of Romans they were blind as the proverbial bat.

He said of Israel's blindness, "What then: Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh, but the election hath obtained it and the rest were  blinded.  (According as it is written, GOD hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that should not see, and ears that should not hear;) unto this day."   Romans 11:7-8

“The moon became as blood."
It depended on whose eyes were viewing those two great lights, GOD and His Church, as to what they saw.  When GOD looks upon the Moon (which is a symbol

Page 173
for the Church) it appears to Him as blood to the fulfillment of: “The moon became as blood.”

I believe that that is a reasonable assessment since John said, "JESUS loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood." Revelation 1:5b

As the song goes, "When He sees me, He sees the Blood of the LAMB."

And as The LORD said, "When I see the blood I will pass over you."
Exodus 12:13b

"And the stars of heaven fell upon the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind."  Revelation 6:13

"And the stars of heaven fell upon the earth."
I believe that the stars of heaven that fell, that they fell from the kingdom of heaven where the seed of Abram dwelt during the old Testament and those stars that fell were the lost descendants of Abraham.

In Revelation is written the basis for my belief that it was the kingdom of Heaven rather than the third heaven.

In Revelation 12, a lady being with child travails to be delivered.  She gave birth to a man child.  John said that the child’s birth took place in heaven.  Then after the red dragon, (Satan) tried to destroy Him, He was caught up to GOD.

I say that since God is in heaven and the child was caught up from heaven, that John spoke of two different heavens, (namely) the kingdom of heaven and the Heaven of Heavens.  Revelation 12:1-5

The writers of the Gospels used the phrase “the kingdom of heaven” In their reference to the kingdom that’s here on earth.  Whereas, John and Isaiah omitted the phrase: "The kingdom of heaven" and used only the word "heaven" in its stead.

John said: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and first earth, were passed away.”  Revelation 21:1a

Page 174
I believe his reference was to the two testaments because when the New Testament came into being, the Old Testament had passed away.  (He took away the Old that He might established the New.)
I heard the Reverend Wade Partin preach the same.  I think the second heaven pertains to the kingdom, that Jesus called His church or the heavenly Jerusalem.
In this second heaven "we are made to set in heavenly places in CHRIST JESUS."  Ephesians 1:3

Some writers have referred to her as Heavenly Jerusalem while others call her New Jerusalem. The writer told the saints of Israel that they were no longer dwelling in Mount Sinai, which is to say that they are no longer under the rules of the Old Testament the place wherein there was danger and fear.  “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living GOD, the heavenly Jerusalem.”  Hebrews 12:22a

The New Jerusalem is here as well as above.  We live in its lower state. However, it is within her walls that we live and have our being.  After we have been resurrected (bodily) we’ll live in its highest state (To live is Christ, to die is gain.)   Amen!
ohn witnessed the passing away of the Old Testament and this was the way that he described it:  "And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island was moved out of their places."

In agreement with this the LORD prophesied, "And I will shew wonders in the heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood and fire and vapour of smoke." Acts 2:19

In Revelation 18 John gave a graphic view of the fires that consumed the old World.                                                                                                                          He wrote: "And every mountain and island was moved out of their places."
During the reformation period, Mount Zion and Mount Sinai both went through some upheaval as we previously discussed. The Islands that moved out of their place were the Gentiles.  Genesis 10:5 (Spiritual, of course.)
During the Old Testament "The Gentiles were sometimes afar off."  Since the Jesus’ work on the Cross they are no longer in that far off position.   Paul
Explained: "But now in Christ Jesus ye who were far off are made nigh by the blood of CHRIST." Ephesians 2:13
May God Bless.      Amen!

THE SEVENTH SEAL

                                                                                  October 15, 2008

Page 175
John, the Revelator said: “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.”  Revelation 8:1

The fifth seal opened with Jesus offer up His blood as High Priest and mediator of the Newer Grace Covenant. All Heaven watched in silence.
Said the writer:  “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:12
In alliance with that, the writer of Hebrews wrote: “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”   Hebrews 9:24

Zechariah prophesied that Jesus would be King and High priest upon his throne. He wrote:   “…Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord: [13] Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon His throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”  Zechariah 6:12-13

According to Zechariah’s prophecy Jesus Christ is reigning on His throne as King and High priest at this very hour.  However, such reign has an end, for the Great apostle Paul said: “Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.”  1 Corinthians 15:24-25
Paul also gave this account of Jesus removing the occupants from Hell and from Paradise. He wrote:  ”Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.”)  Ephesians 4:8-10

If you’ll remember Matthew said that after Jesus arose:  “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”  Matthew 27:52-53 May God be blessed forever, Amen!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CONCERNING NATIONAL ISRAEL
                                                              May 19, 2011
Page 182
Q.       Would you believed, that in His parable, Jesus told the elders of Israel, that when they killed Him, the kingdom of God would be taken from them, and given to a nation that was bringing forth fruits to God? Matthew 21:43

A.       Yea, they did killed Jesus and thus God  took the Kingdom from through the annulment of the Covenant that Moses mediated between God and Israel, even the Law Covenant ‘that made them a people.

While in route to Canaan Moses mediated the Law Covenant between God and Israel. Here are his words:

“That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day:
[13] That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself,
and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Deuteronomy 29:12-13
Q.  Was the kingdom taken from Israel when they killed Jesus?

 A. Yes, as Jesus had predicted, on the day they killed Him, Israel in its entirety, was alienated from the kingdom, both the righteous and the wicked.
Yes, during the Old Testament.  God prophesied of such disciplinary action He told Ezekiel: “Say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.” Ezekiel 21:3

Q.   What became of the kingdom after she was void of her children?

A.  Sometime prior to Israel being thrust from the Kingdom, Jesus assured the small remnant: “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32

Q.  Seeing that the good land vomited out the righteous and the wicked, one might ask, “when was the ‘Little Flock’ returned to the kingdom?”

Page 183

A.   It wasn’t long after that that Jesus told all that were in earshot: “Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” Matthew 16:28

Then not many days following that, Jesus came with the Kingdom on one of Israel’s high days.  That high day was Pentecost.
On that day ‘the little flock’ was brought back into the Kingdom and established by thr better Covenant of Grace. That was accomplished through the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

I deemed that to be true from where Paul wrote:
He said: “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:13
(The Body of Christ and the Kingdom of Israel are synonymous.)

 Q.  Was the new and better Grace Covenant mediated between God and the people?

A.  Yes and its mediator was, and still is, Jesus Christ the Righteous, and the Covenant He mediated between God and His Elect is the Newer and better Grace Covenant.

Here’s the way that Jeremiah r prophesied of the new Grace Covenant.

The Lord said: “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord,  I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.  Jeremiah 31:34

Using some of the same words of the Prophecy of the New Covenant, the Hebrew writer wrote:
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: [11] And they shall not teach every man his

Page 184
neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.” Hebrews 8:10-11

 Q. Why did God say that the new Covenant was to be with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, rather than saying the new Covenant was to be with Israel?

A.   Well, during the reign of Jereboam, and Rehaboam the King of Israel, the Kingdom was divided into two nations. From thence until Pentecost they called the ten tribes, Israel, while on the other hand Judah and Benjamin were called Judah.

But God had said: “And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:” Ezekiel 37:22

On the day of Pentecost, God reunited what Jereboam had divided during his reign.
Yea, God brought the saints of the two nations together and made them one nation in the Body of Christ through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Now it behooves me to explain why the Church received the things promised to Israel.

Paul told us why, he wrote: “What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.”

During the new dispensation Israel has been given a new name as was prophesied. God told Israel: “and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.” Isaiah 62:2

He gave Israel a new name alright, Jesus said: “…Upon this rock I will build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
And the Church is made up of righteous people as the Lord prophesied to Israel. He said: “Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.” Isaiah 60:21

Page 185
Q.  Now I ask: who are God’s Covenanted people that have Jesus Christ for their Mediator?

A.  It is the Church and not the Nation called Israel that was brought together through the negations of men.

   Q.  How can Israel’s unbelievers regain entrance into the kingdom?

 A.  Paul said of Israel’s unbelievers whom were cast out of the kingdom: “And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graft them in again.” Romans 11:23

Q.       What are my feelings toward Israel?

During the Old Testament Israel were the Chosen people of God.

Their Prophets wrote all of the Old Testament Scriptures; then men such as Peter, James, John, Jude, and Paul wrote most of the New Testament,
They were Israelites as well. Many be the kings that ruled in Israel.
Israel’s Virgin bore us a Savior who died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day for our justification. Amen!

The (about) a hundred and twenty Israelites that were in ‘the upper room’ were the first to become members of the Church and The Israelis apostles are its twelve foundations,
And Yea, He that was born of the Israelite Virgin is the head and the Chief corner stone.

Israel produced men like Moses  Joshua and King David to name a few.

May the God of heaven be blessed forever.  Amen!!!

“YE THOUGHT EVIL AGAINST ME, BUT GOD MEANT IT UNTO GOOD”

(“To save much people alive.”)

I gleaned our title from where Joseph assured his brethren, who had sold him into Egypt; “As for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Genesis 50:20

Those are the words of Joseph to his brothers that had sold him to the Midianites while he was yet in his teens.

Starting from the beginning, Joseph was the favorite son of Jacob, and that was obvious to Jacob’s other sons. Joseph was a person of character and the son of  Jacob’s beloved wife Rachael.
Perhaps another reason Jacob rated him high above his other sons was that Joseph was a responsible person. That was another of Joseph’s traits.

Oft times God appeared to Joseph in his dreams and for that his brothers hated him and called him a dreamer and they sought to rid themselves of him.
On a certain day Jacob sent Joseph to check on the welfare of his brothers.
[18] “And when his brothers saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.”
[19] “And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. [20] Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.”

[23] “And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; [24] And they took him, and cast him into a pit:   and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.”

26] “And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
[27] Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and

let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his                                      brother be contented

Page 187
[28] “Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.”
[36] “And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.”
Genesis 37: 36
Then, through an untrue accusation of Potiphar’s wife, Joseph ended up in prison.
While in prison Joseph interpreted the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners, Pharos’ butler and his baker. Both interpretations came true.

Then it was published throughout the land of Egypt that Joseph was an interpreter of dreams.

On a certain night Pharaoh had a dream and sent for Joseph.

Pharaoh dream went like this; “There came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:

[19] And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness: [20] And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:” Genesis 41:18-20

“Here is a nut shell account of Joseph’s interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream.
Joseph told pharaoh; “Behold there shall come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: [30] And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;” Genesis 41:29-30

“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? [39] And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

[40] Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. [41] And Pharaoh
said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. [42] And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; [43]

Page 188
And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41:38-43

After the famine became grievously sore, Joseph brought Jacob to Egypt, with his Dynasty in tow.  The scribe said; “All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six.” Genesis 46:26
However, after many years had past Jacob their father died.
Those bartering sons assumed that Joseph had held his peace for the sake of their aged father.

Then Moses wrote; “And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. [16] And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying,
Thy father did command before he died, saying, [17] So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father.
And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. [18] And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. [19] And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
[20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. [21] Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.” Genesis 50:15-21
